Hello, I'm Monika!
Two of my biggest passions are music & photography. I started off as a live music photographer covering mostly jams and open mics in all sorts of venues all across London. After having explored my smartphone's photographic abilities, I decided to take things a bit more seriously and bought my first camera. Soon enough I found myself shooting bands like Kaiser Chiefs, The Vaccines & Interpol amongst others and covering festivals throughout the UK and Europe. During this past seven years I have come a long way and have enjoyed working with businesses, as well as couples and families doing portraits and weddings. I still learn something from every photo shoot I do and love creating something unique for my clients that we’re both excited about.
Monika is a great and passionate photographer! I modelled for her once and it was a lovely experience. I loved the portraits, but especially I loved her approach to make you feel comfortable.
Frequently Asked Questions
The tough question! First of all, you should wear anything that makes you comfortable. That way you will feel far more relaxed at your session, and this is the key to achieving the best results! I always advise my clients to choose clothes without strong patterns, stripes etc. which will detract from their face. A very good source of inspiration is Pinterest. There are lots of examples there and you can get a feel of what colours work well together.
On average a portrait session on location takes up one to two hours, in order to achieve the best possible results.
London is full of beautiful places that are great for portrait photography. I have a list of twenty top spots all across London that are absolutely stunning! I’m sure I will have at least one recommendation that will be close to your place, in order to minimise the time you’ll spent on travelling. If you wish to have your session at a favourite place of yours though, I will be more than happy to do the shooting there!
If weather conditions are not ideal, due to rain, wind etc. we will reschedule your session to a date that works best for you.
Turnaround time is usually no more than two weeks, but you can get a sneak peak (3-4 images) within two days after your session.
After our session, I will edit the best images and upload them in a secure password-protected gallery for you to share with your family and friends. Within this gallery you will be able to download all the images.
There is a wide selection of framed fine art prints available. From contemporary to vintage, you have the option to select from a variety of styles and sizes and customise frames to suit your individual needs. I have teamed up with the best print lab in the UK which offers anything from photo books and albums to multi-aperture frames and canvases. If you have something specific in mind, feel free to drop me a line using the contact link below.
Of course! Albums have always been the best way to tell a story, and that’s why my clients value them so much. If you decide to have a custom-made album, after our session you will receive an online layout suggestion which will include the best images put together to tell your story. If you would like to see some album samples, you can do so during our pre-session consultation.
